We gather together and have heard together with the Spirit-filled words of Jesus’ first sermon to those in his hometown of Nazareth. Jesus’ first sermon, after growing up with his family; his first sermon ever, after learning and loving wisdom within Jewish synagogues; his first sermon, after being driven into the wilderness by the Spirit and then being tempted by Satan.
