The question of “Where are the heroes? Or, ``What is God up to?” pops up for me in these strange, challenging times, and I am guessing it hits home for many of us gathered today too. It certainly was a question that appears in our Gospel reading for today. These real struggles force us to confront the questions: “Where are you, God? What are You up to? And what does all that matter to me and my hurting neighbors? Where is our hope to be found in these hard times?”
