How many of you like to garden? I really enjoy growing things, both flowers and vegetables. Today’s Gospel lesson. Jesus says, “I am the true Vine, and my father is the vine grower.” He goes on, “…just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. …those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit because apart from me, you can do nothing.”

We need to stay connected to the vine – to God. It is imperative because, without that connection, we will just…well, rot. But if we stay connected, we can grow strong and healthy and bear some really good fruit.
